Robert Sheehan is an Irish model-actor. He is best known for his roles in television series ‘Misfits’ as ‘Nathan Young,’ in ‘Love/Hate’ as ‘Darren Tracey,’ and Netflix’s ‘The Umbrella Academy’ as ‘Klaus Hargreeves’.
Robert Sheehan was born as Robert Michael Adam Sheehan on January 7, 1988 (age 32 years; as in 2020), in Portlaoise, County Laois, Ireland. Since childhood, Sheehan was very passionate about acting. He played ‘Oliver’ in his school play, ‘Oliver with a Twist’. At an early age of just fourteen, Sheehan auditioned for a movie ‘Song for a Raggy Boy’ and won the role. He did his schooling from St Paul’s, Portlaoise, and later, he went on to study film and television at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.

In an interview, Robert said “I don’t know. I’m one of those folks who considers myself agnostic. I think there’s probably something out there but I’m not willing to commit myself to any of the institutions of thought that currently exist.” 
• Robert Sheehan was once threatened to be reported by the cabin crew while flying back from Toronto. Robert, along with a fellow auditionee, had spent much of the week partying. They boarded the flight, ordered a couple of cocktails, then a bottle of whiskey, which eventually led them being wasted. Some hours later, they were slammed by the air stewardesses who asked for their passports. Consecutively, their whiskey was confiscated during the flight, and later, it was found to be spoiled with salt.
• Though many celebrities think it’s unethical to indulge with a fan, Robert Sheehan has claimed to walked down that immoral road. In one of his interviews, Robert said ‘I’d never shag a fan’, which has now proved to be a lie.
• Sheehan also expressed an opinion that drugs should be legalized. The Irish actor said, “I think the old delicious cannabis was definitely my favourite.” While telling how inferior quality weed in Ireland and the UK results in psychosis and paranoia, he quotes “So, it should be fucking legalized. It’s a massive shame on the government for having not legalized it.”

Robert Sheehan went to Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology to study film and television. He studied for a year but failed terrifically in his examinations while shooting for the movie ‘Summer of the Flying Saucer‘ in 2008.
Robert landed his first job just at age of 12 after his mother brought him along to an open audition for ‘Song for a Raggy Boy.’
Sheehan being the youngest of the three children was a pampered child. He was never forced to do anything he did not want to do. He said his parents were surprisingly supportive, and that his mother was practically his manager as well as his chauffeur in the struggling days of his career, driving him to auditions and film sets. It was his mother who helped him to secure a role in ‘Song for a Raggy Boy'(2003) his debut.
In 2015, Sheehan told the Irish Independent in an interview that in his early 20s, he wanted to become a gym junkie with an “intimidating torsos “. But later he realised that he didn’t want that. He quoted, I think part of the development of one’s eccentricity, you have to realise what you are and who you are before you can build upon that.”
Robert Sheehan used to play the role of a crippled boy in a theatre drama ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan’ performed by the Laois Open Door theatre group in the initial days of his acting career.
Robert Sheehan has confessed to having experimented with his sexuality in his early adulthood days, but the experiences failed to trigger him. Sheehan is an active supporter of the LGBTQ community and has spoken out about it in a YouTube video.
